| Where did Rhona MacLeod come from?
The inspiration for Rhona
came from a former pupil of mine who became a forensic scientist for the
Met in London. Her love of her job began my own fascination with
forensic science. But a book begins with a scene in my head that won’t
go away. When I wrote the first line of
DRIFTNET, 'The boy did not
expect to die', I could hear the click of Rhona MacLeod's high heels as
she approached the crime scene. Four novels and a novella later, I'm
still discovering things about her. She's had a tough time so far, and
it'll probably get worse before it gets better. Good job she's a strong
sexy woman ...

the fourth and latest novel in the Rhona MacLeod series, is published in hardback by Hodder on
26th July 2007.
BLOOD RED ROSES,
published in April 2005, is a Rhona MacLeod novella set six months
before
DRIFTNET.
